WORKS NEAR COMPLETION AT BALLYBOUGH ROAD, DUBLIN
Final fitout works and snagging works are ongoing at the newly refurbished 2-6 Ballybough Road, Dublin. This project involved the demolition, conservation, and redevelopment of 5 houses on Ballybough Road to deliver 7 new residential units and accompanying outside space and paving. The five houses in this terrace were originally built in the 1830’s. More recently they had been vacant, had fallen into disrepair and were in very poor condition. The first house was redeveloped into a four bedroom, three storey house over basement, leaving the existing front door as the main entrance. Three of the houses were divided horizontally at the upper ground floor level, so that the Lower Ground Floor could become a one bedroom apartment which is accessed from the new road at the rear of the houses. Each residential unit had a new extension to accommodate a kitchen. Above, in each case, on the Upper Ground Floor and First Floor levels there is a two storey two bedroom duplex apartment. The final house was demolished in order to facilitate a wider junction between the surrounding residential areas.
Malone O’Regan are retained as Civil & structural Engineer, Environmental Consultant and Project Supervisor Design Process for the project.
