Malone O’Regan Consulting Engineers are seeking to recruit a Senior Architectural / Structural BIM Technician to join our Waterford Office. The role involves working with blue-chip clients and a variety of sectors including Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Commercial and Healthcare sectors. The position offers the opportunity to act as a BIM specialist and to lead BIM delivery on key projects whilst working with a high degree of autonomy. The position would be suited for a motivated, practical and an ambitious individual who is keen to progress their career in the area of digital design in construction.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality 3D models using Autodesk Revit and the production of 2D documentation
• Manage and co-ordinate multidisciplinary models (clash detection and spatial coordination) and represent Malone O’Regan at BIM coordination meetings
• Act as an Appointed Party for projects, as described in I.S. EN ISO 19650
• Apply BIM company standards and implement I.S. EN ISO 19650
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver challenging, large-scale projects efficiently
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior BIM/Revit staff
• Consultant Liaison – Act as a key contact with Architects, engineers and contractors

Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Architectural Technology or a related field
• Advanced skills in Revit and AutoCAD are essential
• Experience in producing high quality renders using Autodesk Revit, including lighting, material textures and high-resolution output
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and building standards.
• Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills
• A good team player
• Knowledge and experience using Common Data Environments
• Efficient time management and committed to project deadlines
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar role
• Irish / UK experience is a distinct advantage

Civil/Structural CAD / BIM Technicians – Cork/Waterford/Galway/Dublin

We are currently seeking to recruit CAD/BIM Technicians where you will work on a variety of civil, commercial, institutional and industrial projects. These opportunities will suit ambitious and high calibre Technicians who are interested in developing their careers beyond the production of drawings and can work with a high degree of autonomy. Responsibilities will  include:

• Production of 2D general arrangement drawings from 3D Revit Models & CAD 2D drawings.
• Preparation of GA co-ordination drawings
• Ensure models / documentation is developed in line with company BIM protocols and procedures.
• Participation in design review meetings.
• Production and maintenance of drawing registers and control of drawing revisions.
• Liaising with Clients and project teams manager to ascertain project needs and timelines for same.

Key qualifications & skills

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD drawing and/or Revit modelling
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Civil 3D skills preferable.

Resident Engineer

Location: County Kildare

Duration: 2-3 Year Project

Experienced Resident Engineer for a major industrial development project in County Kildare. This high-profile, multi-phase project is being delivered on behalf of a leading international business. The development involves the expansion of a large-scale operational facility and includes significant structural steel frameworks, reinforced concrete works, industrial buildings, warehouse construction, associated infrastructure, and site development works.

Offering a project duration of approximately 2 to 3 years, this role provides long-term stability and the opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a complex industrial construction programme.

The successful candidate will spend approximately 3 to 4 days per week on-site in County Kildare, with the remaining time split between the consultancy’s Dublin or Waterford offices.

Overview:

As Resident Engineer, you will act as the client’s representative on-site, overseeing construction activities and ensuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, programme requirements, and statutory regulations.

You will work closely with contractors, project managers, design teams, and client stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring the successful delivery of this significant industrial development.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Monitor and supervise construction activities across all project phases.
• Maintain daily records
• Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and approved methodologies.
• Oversee structural steel, reinforced concrete, industrial building, and warehouse construction works
• Engagement with contractor and attend site meetings
• Carry out regular site inspections and quality audits.
• Support in review contractor submissions, method statements, inspection test plans, and quality documentation.
• Monitor project progress against programme milestones and report on project performance.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and technical documentation.
• Identify and resolve engineering and construction-related issues as they arise.
• Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
• Liaise effectively with contractors, consultants, client representatives, and regulatory bodies.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical guidance and recommendations where required.

The successful engineer will have the following:

• Qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience within construction, civil engineering, structural engineering, or industrial projects.
• Previous experience as a Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, Clerk of Works, Site Supervisor, or similar engineering role.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, quality assurance procedures, and site supervision practices.
• Experience overseeing large-scale industrial, manufacturing, commercial, infrastructure, or structural projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions on-site.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.

Desirable, but not essential:

• Experience working in commercial or manufacturing facilities.
• Knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete construction.
• Experience representing clients on major construction projects.

Senior Structural Engineer / Associate Designate – Dublin

We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with strong analytical skills for our Dublin office to work on a range of commercial, institutional and industrial projects in Ireland and overseas. This is an ideal role for a high calibre Engineer with strong experience in the delivery of projects and with the ambition and potential to develop into a member of the senior management team, contributing to the effective management of the Company including participation in the planning and execution of its strategy. The role will involve client relationship management with the retention of existing business and the generation of new business as high priorities. Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent

Experience preparing infrastructure feasibility reports and technical assessments
