PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The expansion involved the construction of a state-of-the-art €13m bottling line, a new 75-unit tank farm with a total storage capacity of 16.5 million litres, and a 7,000 square metre high-bay warehouse on the existing site. The new bottling hall construction consisted of long-span steel trusses to give clear production spaces into which new bottling technology with associated large-volume conveyors could be installed within a very short time period. The wet process environment required significant internal and external drainage to facilitate cleaning operations.
PROJECT COMPLEXITIES
The existing site had evolved organically over time but this was a significant expansion of the existing operations. Due to the high volume nature of the expansion ensuring efficient truck movements on the site while accommodating the existing site layout was a critical part of the design with the access roads, loading bays and trailer parking areas all designed and constructed to a new Masterplan for the site which allowed for future expansion.
